Marnie Ceazan, P.A.

Marne CeazanMarnie is a certified physician assistant, having received her training at State University of New York Stonybrook. She holds a master’s degree in geochemistry from the Colorado School of Mines and undergraduate degrees in chemistry and biology. Marnie has been with Broomfield Family Practice since 1999. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants.

Personal: Marnie has two sons, Josh and Noah. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking and gardening.

Philosophy: “I enjoy all aspects of family medicine. I take a holistic approach to health care and believe in partnering with patients with the goal of health in mind, body and spirit. Patients must be informed and involved in decisions.”

Darcy Connelly, P.A.

Darcy ConnellyDarcy graduated from Western Michigan University Physician Assistant Program and has been a member of the Broomfield Family Practice team since 2001. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in science from Western Michigan University and is a member of the National Academy of Physician Assistants. She treats patients of all ages with an emphasis on women’s health.

Personal: Darcy enjoys outdoor activities, hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, running, reading, and wine and cheese parties.

Philosophy: “I emphasize preventive medicine and work with patients to educate them about their body and health. I interact as a team member with patients and help them learn to help themselves and feel comfortable with their medical conditions. Listening is one of my core philosophies.”

David Ehrenberger, M.D.

Dr. David EhrenbergerDr Ehrenberger received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency at UCLA, Santa Monica. Dr Ehrenberger is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, Colorado Academy of Family Practice, Colorado Medical Society and Clear Creek Valley Medical Society. Dr Ehrenberger joined Broomfield Family Practice in 1997 after moving from California where he had practiced for 10 years. He cares for patients of all ages and has a special interest in obstetrics. He is currently Chief Medical Officer at Avista Adventist Hospital and has a special professional interest in promoting better health care through the use of Electronic Health Records.

Personal: Dr Ehrenberger is married; he and his wife Lynn have two sons, Matthew and Andrew, and three dogs, Odie, Maya and Spike (the five pound Chihuahua). David enjoys coaching and playing ice hockey, snowboarding, mountain biking, scuba diving and digital photography.

Philosophy: “I believe in treating patients in the context of their family, work and life circumstances. Health care is a partnership and I am here to help.”

Julia Essig, M.D.

Dr. Julia EssigDr. Essig received her medical degree from Michigan State University. She completed her Family Practice residency at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI. She is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Essig holds memberships in the American Academy of Family Physicians, Colorado Academy of Family Physicians, Colorado Medical Society and Clear Creek Valley Medical Society. Dr. Essig treats patients of all ages – she has a particular interest in women’s health. She joined Broomfield Family Practice in 1987.

Personal: Dr. Essig is married; she and her husband, Luis, have three children: Madeline, Kelly Rose and Gracie. In her spare time, Dr. Essig enjoys motherhood, running, biking, travel, piano and weight training.

Philosophy: “I believe one of my biggest jobs as a physician is to listen to the patient, and try to truly understand his or her concerns. From there, the best treatment and management options can be discerned. I personally strive to translate and synthesize the medical world for my patients.”

Paul Flippen, P.A.

Paul FlippenPaul graduated from Bowman Gray School of Medical, Physician Assistant Program. He received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He joined the practice in 1978. He sees all ages and has a special interest in mental health issues, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Paul is certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants and is licensed to practice in Colorado.
 
Personal: Paul is married; he and his wife, Kim, always have a good time. In his spare time, Paul enjoys reading, softball, scuba diving, sailing and laying on the beach in Puerto Vallarta.

Philosophy: “Taking care of the patient, not just treating the problem. Treating the problem is the easy part; however taking care of the patient is the most important aspect of good health care. Once a condition is diagnosed, I enthusiastically pursue all available options to reverse, control and slow the progression of the condition. My goal is to keep my patients healthy and out of the office.”

Richard Hazen, P.A.

Richard HazenRichard graduated in 1978 from Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Physician Assistant Program in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He received his BS in biology from Colorado State University and has been a member of the Broomfield Family Practice team since 1988. Rich is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants, and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Rich treats patients of all ages with a special interest in men’s health.

Personal: Rich is married; he and his wife Becky have three grown sons: Richard, Patrick, and Aaron. Rich enjoys woodworking and fly-fishing in his spare time.

Philosophy: “I believe the practice of medicine is a cooperative effort requiring listening, communication and patient education. The relationships created are what I find most rewarding in a family practice setting - add to that, a dollop of humor and that describes my practice vision.”

James Hill, M.D.

Dr. James HillDr. Hill is a graduate of the Louisiana State Medical Center. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds membership in the American Academy of Family Practice, Colorado Academy of Family Practice, Colorado Medical Society, and Clear Creek Valley Medical Society. Dr. Hill has been in practice since 1978. Caring for patients of all ages, Dr. Hill has a special interest in obstetrics and in dermatology, and is a designated Airman Medical Examiner.

Personal: Dr. Hill is married; he and his wife Pam have two sons, Eric and Jeff. In his spare time, Dr. Hill enjoys skiing, tennis, scuba diving and birding.

Philosophy: “Being a reliable source of information and trusted advisor to help our patients make wise decisions about their health and lifestyle.”

Amy Kinsey, P.A.

Amy KinseyMs. Kinsey graduated from the University of Colorado Child Health Science Center Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Program. She joined the practice in 1994 with a specialty in the care of children and adolescents. She is a member of the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Certification was completed through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants with primary care emphasis. Treating infants, toddlers and young adults is a talent and skill Amy provides to our patients and families at Broomfield Family Practice.

Personal: Amy enjoys spending time with her daughter, Ally. In her spare time, she also enjoys traveling, reading and music.

Philosophy: “I believe that the care of the children should incorporate the entire family. I enjoy getting to know the kids and parents on a personal, friendly basis, and feel very connected to the families. I approach the treatment of patients as if they were my own children, and ’adopt’ them in a sense that I am privileged to watch them grow and change through the years.”

William Markel, M.D.

William Markel Dr. Markel founded Broomfield Family Practice in the summer of 1958. After an active practice of 44 years, he is now limiting his practice to aviation medicine and teaching. He and his wife, Jean, have raised four children. Two of his children have become physicians and all of them live in Colorado. He enjoys his 13 grandchildren and traveling around the world.

Susan Robertson, M.D.

Dr. Susan RobertsonDr. Robertson is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in Family Practice at Valley Medical Center, affiliated with the University of Washington. She is a graduate of Colorado State University with a BS in biology. Susan is Board Certified in Family Medicine, holding memberships in the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. She joined Broomfield Family Practice in 1990.

Personal: Dr. Robertson is married; she and her husband, David, have three children: Evan, Eric and Emily. In her spare time, Dr. Robertson enjoys scrapbooking, waterskiing, snowskiing camping and reading.

Philosophy: “Providing a full spectrum of family practice medicine including obstetrics is important to my practice. I particularly enjoy providing care to women. I prefer to focus on disease prevention and promoting good health for my patients.”

Monica Salas-Meyers, D.O.

Dr. Monica Salas-MeyersDr. Salas-Meyers received her medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. She completed her residency in Family Practice at Exempla St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. Dr. Salas-Meyers is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Colorado Medical Society and the Clear Creek Valley Medical Society. Dr. Salas-Meyers joined the practice in 2006.

Personal: Dr. Salas-Meyers is married; she and her husband, Jeff enjoy traveling, hiking, dancing and watching movies. She speaks Spanish fluently.

Philosophy: “I try to build a trusting relationship with my patients and get to know each as a person. I attentively listen to their needs in order to assist them in making medical decisions regarding their health. I enjoy a career in full-spectrum family medicine.”

Mark Sarinopoulos, M.D.

Dr. Mark SarinopoulosDr. Sarinopoulos received his medical degree and an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Colorado and is Board Certified. Dr. Sarinopoulos is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Colorado Academy of Family Physicians, and the Colorado Medical Society. Dr. Sarinopoulos joined Broomfield Family Practice in 2001. He thoroughly enjoys his emphasis in obstetrics and is trained in surgical obstetrics. He cares for patients of all ages and brings a unique perspective to the birthing process.

Personal: Dr. Sarinopoulos is married; he and his wife, Alison, have two daughters. Mark enjoys family, friends, music and most outdoor activities.

Philosophy: “Most problems can be diagnosed by listening. My goal is to offer you thorough medical advice in a comfortable environment. We can then make an informed health care decision together.”

Tony Schock, P.A.

Tony SchockTony is a graduate of the University of Nebraska School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program – South Campus in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He has been with the practice since 2001 and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Tony is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants. He is also a member of the Colorado Army National Guard.

Personal: Tony is married and has one son. In his spare time, he enjoys water sports, hiking and spending time with his family.

Philosophy: “Being open-minded and listening to the concerns and ideas of patients. Providing the best care possible with participation from my patients.”

Kristin Del Negro, PA-C

Kristin Del NegroKristin is a Physician Assistant certified by the NCCPA. She is a 2000 graduate of Touro College of School of Health Sciences in Bayshore, NY and holds a B.S. in Biology from SUNY Cortland in upstate New York. Kristin joined Broomfield Family Practice in 2007. Her previous experience includes Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care and Women’s Health. Kristen is a member of the Colorado Academy of Physicians Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Her special interests include Women’s Health and Adolescent Care.

Personal: Kristin enjoys many outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, skiing, camping and dabbles in home brewing when time allows. Her greatest treasures are her husband, Andy, and daughter, Ellie, and the rest of her family and friends.

Philosophy: “One of the greatest aspects of Family Medicine is cultivating caring relationships with patients of all ages and their families. My main objectives are providing complete patient care; patient education, disease prevention, and helping patients achieve their individual health related goals with respect and compassion for their personal needs. ”
